Self-Promotion

I figured there might be a few people out there that might still be interested in this, either from past releases or because of interest in Pallbearer. This never got a proper release, despite a few labels getting our hopes up with promises of vinyl pressings and other awesome elaborate packages. Maybe someday. We recorded this in 2007, before we even really hit our stride on the improv super heavy psych blasts. Maybe we'll get a chance to record again someday (if we can ever get all our gear fixed.

One more thing...

Just an addendum to what I posted earlier; I think I've decided to make this more than just an mp3 blog. I've been watching a truly unholy amount of movies lately and I think it's time I start putting my writing degree to at least some sort of use, so expect some reviews to be forthcoming.

Expanding the Primal

I'm about to have internet at my house for the first time in over year starting tomorrow. I haven't ever felt like updating the blog via my iphone, but now expect even more lackluster posting from yours truly.

Music post of the day:

Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus

This is a great album, pretty psychedelic and even dark and/or moving in places. Also one of the first uses of a Moog synthesizer on a rock and roll recording. Sweet.

Unbelievable

This is unheard of, I'm actually posting on two consecutive days. Only because I've been sitting here at work just being kind of introspective and even a little awestruck over how much music is just sitting on my multiple TB's worth of harddrive space, and how easy it is to get music nowadays. I mean literally all you have to do is just think of something you want to listen to, type the album title into Google along with your file-sharing site name of choice, and damned if it's not playing through your computer speakers within a few minutes' time. As long term underground music devotee, I don't know if I'm lucky or just spoiled to have it this easy...hmm

Anyways enough meandering bullshit. Here's an album that DID take me a while to find a decent sounding version of; I'm still going to have to track down a good vinyl copy and do a legit rip of it.

Sacrilege - Turn Back Trilobyte

Sacrilege was a female-fronted ex-thrash band gone doom metal (although this album is still pretty fast and progressive.) I guess it's sort of like Megadeth mixed with a less straightforward Run to the Light-era Trouble sort of sound. Some totally killer harmonies on this thing. Get it.

Return to the Primal

So, I've been like hyperdistracted by watching hundreds of b movies with my girlfriend, my band getting signed and life in general. Now it's time to refocus the primality:

Majeure - Timespan

This is the drummer of Zombi's solo project; a lot less Goblin and a lot more Tangerine. I have to say, I enjoy this record a lot more than the most recent Zombi album.

Chuff Zone

Here's a great example of Tangerine Dream combining the best of their creepy moog-drone with guitar and drums era and the 80's era pan-pipin' hot and really sequenced sound.

Protopsycho

I've decided to resurrect my blog with more album sharing, mostly just between friends.

First up, the first album to EVER be called Heavy Metal by the press. It's proto as shit and is a total tone-bone album.

Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come
